 Decide on the Location

Introduction
Location is probably the most important factor in choosing a place. This would depend on your personal preferences (lifestyle, facilities, etc) as well as some practical matters (transportation access, amenities, etc).
There are many more restaurants, bars and activities to do in Central Business District (CBD/Downtown/centre-ville), and command the highest prices. This  works if you go out often, saving you time and taxi fare.  Places nearer to the Downtown (and within walking distance of an MRT station)  e.g. Tiong Bahru, Queenstown, Novena and Toa Payoh are more expensive.

Factors to look out for in a Location
Facilities you Require: Swimming Pool, Gymnasium, Tennis courts, Cleaning Services
Transportation Access: Number of MRT stations and bus stops nearby, number of buses plying this route, frequency and destinations.
Travel time to ESSEC: This will be essential if you need to wake up early to attend classed or if you have to study late on campus. Less than 30 mins travel is advisable.
Travel time to CBD: This will be essential for those company meetings, industry visits, internships, restaurants and pubs.

Amenities: Supermarkets, Shopping malls, restaurants, food courts, cinemas, sports centres.
